Does using the computer too often cause problems with vision??
Answers: yes. Sitting to close and only focusing on one point for an extended period of time can both cause damage to your eyes. The solution. Sit a little further back, and every now and again look at something else.
Yes, it does. Not in the sense of often, but in sense of too much. It is better for eyes to experience various passive objects and periods of rest, instead of active monitors for prolonged periods. You have to be careful by taking regular breaks, which is also good for the rest of your body. Also, I would suggest investigating excercises for eyes and body - those techniques, involving sun, have been useful and stimulating for me. Putting palms over eyes is simpliest to do.
Another thing to consider is how you place computer monitor: it should be out of any window/lamp reflections, somewhat lower, than eye level, at the distance around that of your arm length, not too bright, nor dim.
At last, I would suggest being always in control of how much time you spend in front of computer, it is easy to unnotice
whole hours spent, as that becomes increasingly used tool for many purposes.
Good luck!

That's what they say. I've had my pc for 13 years, plus I work on one all day. I probably spend at least 10 hours a day looking at one. My contact prescription hasn't changed in about 8 years.
