Laser eye surgery??
Question: is 19 too young?
i wear contacts -2.25 & -2.50
Answers: I worked in a laser eye clinic for many years...
Laser eye treatment will NOT stop your vision getting worse. 18 is the minimum, but most surgeons will not consider treating someone under 21. Even then your prescription would have to be stable.
It is very likely that if you had treatment at such a young age that you would need it done again in the future.
When you have laser eye treatment the alser removes corneal tissue. You may not even have enough tissue to have more than one treatment and then you would be back to wearing glasses/lenses again.
Think hard about this - is wearing contact lenses so bad?
I would recommend waiting for a few more years at least
YEP you should wait I'm 27 and wanted to do it about 4 yrs ago but was told to wait to see if my prescribtion changes anymore and it didn't I had it done in July and it was the best MONEY i WILL EVER SPEND~!
its not too young but your eyes have to have been stable for 2 years (eg not got any worse)
not too young but ur eyesight must be stable for 2 or 3 years that means ur eyesight doesnt change anymore
good luck
im sick of wearing glasses. i hate them thinking to have a lser treatment but waiing my eyesight to be setteled down
Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.
Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
It depends on the cause of your myopia. If, like me, your eyeballs have not stopped growing at puberty (as normal) then you will need to wait until you stop growing, at about the age of 27.
This is what my son is doing. He'll be getting the job done next year.
You could probably get it done, have a chat with someone at your local clinic! But you'd have to get it done in a few years time again!
I had mine done at 67, wish it was available 50 years ago.
