Help: i have an eye appt??
Question: on the 22nd and im 15 and i really dont want to have to wear glasses. but my vision is getting pretty blurry. my parents said it might have been my make-up. but i stopped using it for like 5 days and nothing has changed. do you think i will have the option of getting contacts instead of glasses. and do colored contacts cost more than regular contacts?
Answers: colored contacts are more $$
makeup didn't cause it
if you can't see far away it's called myopia
Basically the lens is too curved for good vision. You've probably squinted and sometimes it helps. That's because when you squint it pushes back on the lens. Contact have come along way in the past 10yrs. After a day or two, you'll forget you're even wearing them. You'll see everything so much clearer. You won't believe it. Just be prepared for a slight to moderate headache the first couple days with corrective lenses. Stay with it though and you'll be glad.
Most people start with eyeglasses, and move on to contact lenses. Even with contacts, you will need a pair of glasses for times when you don't have the contacts in (watching TV in bed, lazy days).
If your vision is already blurry, you will be amazed at the difference the glasses make. Seeing better at school will help your grades, seeing better while playing sports only helps, too! A ton of fashionable frames are available, as well as frameless styles that are almost invisible.
You may have been experiencing headaches, from squinting and straining, even if you don't realize it. You're pretty young, but squinting causes wrinkles, too.
With contacts, especially, it is important to wear decent quality eye makeup, and not share with your friends. Pink eye is often passed around on eyeliner or mascara, and causes itchyness, blurred vision and yucky discharge.
If you think your makeup may be part of the problem, toss it and get new. If anything (mascara, especially) smells funny, definitely toss it.
It depends on how bad your eyes are if you can get contacts. They do cost more than glasses and colored contacts cost about $5 a box more than regular contacts.
It is probably a good idea to get your vison checked now, because you will probably get more nearsighted without glasses or contacts. Contacts usually keep your vision from getting worse as you age more than glasses. Yes colored contacts do cost more. I would recommend that you start off with 2 week disposable, as you can change into a fresh pair when needed. When i first started wearing contacts, the lens may come off of my eye just from rubbing it hard, tearing, wind. so it is a good option to have extra disposables. They average $15-20 a box of 6. and each contact lens lasts 2 weeks.
Sorry but 5 days will do nothing.
I extremely doubt your make-up would blur your vision.
I highly reccomend you get glasses first, for a year or so, and then switch to contacts.
Contacts are more expensive and are hard to get used to at first.
And yes, colored contacts do cost more than regular ones.
There are also different brands of contacts, and types
like I have contacts for astigmatism
There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to get contacts at your age. There are a few criterions that you must meet in order to wear contacts that the doctor will assess. But depending on how bad your eyes are you probably should also get glasses just as a back up.
get glasses fist because if you get contacts without glasses it could make your vision worse because glasses will hurt for the first time so imagine contacts
