Do eye doctors inflate their prices on purpose??
Question: i bought a 6 month supply of contacts for $175 form the eye doctor. I found the exact same contacts on the internet for $31.50! WTF?
Answers: I totally agree with you , it's not right .
All doctors over charge.
It would be hard to do it accidentally!
Depending on the kind my company offers 25-60% of contact & glasses..nationwide too! LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears & JCPenney too. By the way, mine are $26.50
for a 6 month supply.
Consider this:
Your eye doctor is probably a small business. He pays a mortgage/rent on his building. He pays his staff. He pays for SMALL orders of contact lenses, which are more expensive for HIM. He pays electricity, water, supplies, vendors, etc. Plus, you're paying him to make sure they fit your properly and monitor the health of your eyes.
Now consider this:
The internet store you found the contacts for cheap is BIG business. They pay no retail rent/mortgage (it is a huge warehouse with very very very low rent). They pay their staff minimum wage. They order HUGE orders of contact lenses, and tehrefore get them heavily discounted. They have HUGE resources to pay what little expenses they have as far as utilities go. All they have to do is follow your doctor's orders (who did all the work!) and pop your lenses in a box and send them off to you.
In my eyes (haha), I'd rather support the small business and pay more for the lenses.
