Is laser eye surgery effective and does it last? What age is suitable to have it done??

Answers: Yes it works wonders. My boyfriend had it done and his only regret is that he didn't do it sooner.

I believe doctors will recommend to have the surgery before 40, but you would have to check for sure.
My view is that laser eye surgery has not been around long enough for the long term effects to be known. I would stick to contacts or glasses. Glasses can be very sexy if you get the right ones to match your face,
I had mine done just over a month ago and I wish I'd done it ages ago. I went from having a -7 prescription (shockingly short-sighted) to better than 20-20 in less than a day. The difference was immediately obvious and the next morning it was incredible.

Had a check up last week and I was reading a line on the sight chart two lines better than 20-20. I never expected results like this.

And for the record, i'm 30 and I really hope it lasts! Cost me a lot but was worth every penny.
I asked my Optician why he was still wearing glasses and not had laser treatment done, he said he feels there is not enough long term results to satisfy him that it is safe and successful he said until it has been around for 25 years with proof then he will stick to glasses or contacts, after listening to him with the rest of his reasons I had decided not to have it done myself.
My wife (64) had it done 4 months ago.

She says:- Best thing since sliced bread!
Im getting it done on 23 of this month, from my research its safe and very effective it lasts for ever but when you become middle aged you might have to wear reading glasses after it...normal ageing process im afriad.
