My eye doctor told me to wear glasses only when i need them... why??

Answers: It is possible that the doctor prescribed a TASK SPECIFIC prescription. There are some who have visual difficulties with only specific tasks i.e. computer, reading, driving, etc. but have no symptoms for other visual activities. In these cases you may simply just not need them for anything other than these tasks.
Its probably because you're not (short-sighted or long sighted) enough to warrent needing to wear them at all times.

When i first got my glasses, I only needed them for reading the chalkboard at school. Now, seven years on, I need them all the time.
That's strange... he might be worried that you'll get used to the glasses and need to wear them more often... but my guess is that he's a very old eye doctor, b/c that's old fashioned thinking.

In general, if you need glasses, your vision gets worse as you get older anyway, so if you enjoy being able to see clearly, then wear them as much as you like!

Here's a link that disproves the myth that glasses make your eyes weaker:

Because if you wear them everyday at every second your eyes will just slowly get worse and worse everday, and before you know it, you'll have to wear it or else you wont be able to see!
