My son has just accidentally sprayed perfume in his eyes and he said it burns a bit after wiping W/water??
Question: My mother in law gave one of her perfumes to my 7 yrd old son, and he accidentally just did a quick spritz in his eyes. They burn him and are not really too red at all. He caught I fright, and so did I.
I tried NHS direct and was a total waste of time.
I don't think it requires hospial now.....can anyone please help with some advice/suggestions/remedies, etc.?
Thank you
Answers: At this point his tears have probably washed out most of the perfume, and if there is any damage to the suface of the eye (cornea) from the perfume/alcohol it will probably heal by itself in 24h. Trying to pry his eye open to wash it out will probaly just further irritate his eye, him, and eventually, you. Milk is by no means sterile, especially once it has been opened and could potentially lead to an infection. If you have some artificial tears at home, put them in the refrigerator until cold and then put in a couple of drops, and it will sooth the eye(s). Otherwise, just let it heal by itself. The eye does a great job of that.
dont wipe his eyes rinse clean water over.. seek medical advice..
Its mostly alcohol with a little oil.
Lots of water should do it. If he's put his fingers in his eyes it would aggravate it. Tears will help.
bathe it in cold milk. It should rinse the perfume our and feel less painful then water.
That would hurt! There is a saline solution you can get at the drug store that you can drop into his eye and it will make it feel better, and will also help wash out the oils in the perfume. Otherwise, you can just keep rinsing with water so it feels better.
cold milk or yougart, not gallons of the stuff but enough to wipe out the oils don't worry it wont affect his sight in any way
Keep bathing his eyes in luke warm milk or luke warm water. Obviously if it doesn't help or he's in too much pain, get him down to the hospital. Try not to let him rub them too much.
hi
just keep rinsing the eyes with cold water to dillute the perfume, if there still irritated in the morning go to the gp.
