Facial Hair??

Question: i'm 16 years old and have been shaving for about a year, but the hair only seems to grow on my neck, chin, and sideburns. I also have a bald spot with about a half inch circumference right under my chin. Why is this?
Answers: Facial hair is a secondary sex characteristic in human males. Many men develop facial hair in the later years of puberty, approximately between 15-18 years old
In the months and years following the appearance of pubic hair, other areas of skin which respond to androgens develop heavier hair (androgenic hair) in roughly the following sequence: underarm (axillary) hair, perianal hair, upper lip hair, sideburn (preauricular) hair, periareolar hair, and the rest of the beard area

the bald spot is playing catch up when you reach about 20 you should have 80% facial hair the other 20% will form as you get older say by the time your in your mid 20s your notice that you can grow a beard , but some men wont have a full beard , i think its genetic
Everyone is different in regards to facial hair, some guys never are able to grow a full beard, while others seem to have the ability to grow one practically overnight! Don't worry too much about the splotchy parts, just keep taking care of your face & your skin, and you should eventually develop a fuller beard. It's not unusual to have a patchy beard at your age, hormones being what they are, it might be a few years before you are able to develop substantial facial hair. Don't worry, facial hair is not a reflection on your virility, just like your eyebrows, it has nothing to do with your being a man or a boy - that has much more to do with your maturity level than your physical characteristics. :)
Because you're 16 and you're not yet fully developed.

Facial hair is one of the last things to develop in males during puberty.

It will come I promise, and when it does, you will hate it just as much as women do.

No correction, you'll only hate having to shave for the women who don't like facial hair.
baldness runs on mother's side. most believe it comes from the father but this is not the case. i suggest you start taking biotin and concuming more protein if you would like to start growing hair. also you can take skin, hair and nails - it does not matter if you are a male. it's just MARKETED to women.
Holy crap, I don't have that much hair yet and I am 21. Wow! I probably look younger than I am and it's the very opposite with you. it's just u looking beyond your years. You probably look 30 or something and will probably look a lot older than u are your whole life. Not necessarily a bad thing. You'll look 40 when ur 20 tho hahah.
you still need to hit puberty fully.
That's completely normal, it grows out later on in life.
Not all men can grow a 'full beard' and mustashe ... but the 'spotty growth' you are seeing and feeling are NORMAL for a young man your age. If you have any redness in your hair, or even a bit of the blood of any of the other races, from the Asian to the 'dark brown or black' peoples, then you would have a strong tendency to have 'patchy' facial hair at best. Most men can't grow a 'full beard' (sideburns, cheeks, upper lip, chin, and neck) until they are in their THIRTIES ... so hang in there, and if you want 'facial hair' when you get older, you can probably have 'some' ... even if you can't ever grow a 'full, thick beard.'
It's fairly normal: I know grown men who can grow full beards except for ONE LITTLE SPOT (and they do during Sabres season, despite how ridiculous it looks).

I don't know why it is though: it's probably hormonal.
whats the deal with you guys, you want hair or don't want hair???
wax it
Need to turn in a complaint form to the creator (GOD).
it'll probably all end up filling out later when you mature more.
People have different hair growth patterns (think widows peak, cowlick, etc). It is probably just the way your hair grows. However, it will probably get heavier and you may see growth in some of the other areas as you age.
