Chapped Lips??

Question: Its winter of course and I always get really bad chapped lips. Chapstick never seems to help, does anyone know of any alternative solutions? My lips thank you!!
Answers: Use carmax. It works great.
Scrub your lips in the shower then slather them good with carmex before going to bed. They'll feel great in the morning.
if chapstick doesn't work, try petroleum jelly or aloe vesta. they are usually for the skin but you can use them on your lips. also, drink lots of water and fruit juices to prevent dehydration, you may think it's winter and you don't sweat but you still lose lots of water from your body, so keep drinking!(alcoholic beverages a no no)
As many times a day that you can,, hold a very warm wash cloth on your lips for a few minutes. Then rub some vasoline on them. Do this every night and you lips won't get sore again.
if you can't find anything that works for you, then maybe you could put just a little vaseline on them, i know that it sounds bad but it will help your lips. Or you might even try some lip gloss.
Lots of people love the Carmex, but it has only ever made my lips drier. It doesn't contain ground glass (http://www.snopes.com/business/secret/ca... ) but it does contain salicylic acid and camphor which I think may contribute to the chapping. Lots of people hate petroleum jelly but I think it works well. Bag Balm too. The smell even grows on you.

Here's what I think works best to help start your lips fresh again.
1. Scrub your lips with a paste of sugar (or a microbead facial cleanser) and washcloth for about 30 seconds.
2. Slather your lips with a big, thick, goopy and slightly gross layer of Mentholatum or Vicks Vap-O Rub. Then go to sleep.
3. When you wake up, wipe off the excess and slightly buff with a warm washcloth. The gross chapped part comes off and you've started anew. This part is kind of icky too.
4. Wear petroleum jelly all the time to maintain.

I should say, I'm allergic to most of the other chapped lip things, SoftLips, ChapStick, Blistex, etc. all make my lips chap and peel after about a day or two...but I will wear the thick waxy ones with SPF when I'm going to be outside in the water and not wearing lipstick. The Vaseline with SPF doesn't stay on that well in water.
Drink more water.
I'm the same way! If you have the Body Shop around you, they make a butter for your lips (in a little pot) that is the best I've ever tried!! Also, Softlips (at wal-mart or any drug store) is pretty much the best you can get without going to the Body Shop!

http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/brow... - here's their lip stuff
just put vasoline on your lips brush them with a tooth brush (not to hard) and start putting carmax on your lips
I use Blistex Lip Medex on my chapped lips and Blistex daily conditioner on my lips at night. Blistex is the only product that works for me, but I have heard from friends that Carmex?? does work. Good luck.
There is a lip balm that is called Aquafina flavor splash that works pretty good. But you should make sure you are drinking plenty of water. My son's lips dry out pretty bad and his doctor said that is one of the first signs of dehydration and to make him drink more water.
carmex will fix anything
Whole foods lip balm works really well. And keep applying as much as often. Try Burts Bee's honey or regular, they are also quite good.
Also-dont use carmex, in school my health teacher said they use like glass or something in there. It sounds wierd but it cuts open your lips to make them feel tingly.
You should try a good moisturizer. Apply to your lips and night and see what happens.
It's a new formula from the Orient called cumofsumyung guy. Try it!!
