I am having problems waking up in the morning and staying up.??
Question: Does anyone know a solution to help me wake up and stay up in the morning. The only thing that makes me stay up is coffee or cappuccino but it gets me very sick. I can wake up at 6 or 7 but I always end up going back to sleep around 10 or 11. It's so hard.
Answers: Try to get on a set sleep schedule. I know this is very hard, especially if you work retail or food, because your weekly schedule is always different. The benefit of being on a set schedule is that your body will learn (in about 2 weeks, in my experience) when it's time to get sleepy and when it's time to wake up.
Also, consider going for a run or walk, for at least 30 minutes. It sounds counter-intuitive, I know, but it gets your blood flowing and raises your metabolism, which helps you to stay awake.
Don't eat lots of sugary things; your body will crash and you'll feel tired. Try to eat complex carbs: they break down more slowly than sugars (simple carbs) and will give you energy longer. Oatmeal is a good choice, and any other whole grain option. I'm sure there are more too.
See a doctor. Look at you diet, your sleeping habits. Ensure that you are getting the proper amount of sleep, Your diet is planned and eaten at the proper times to insure a good nights sleep.
Try to falling asleep to a soothing sound or music. Clear your head of all distractions. Take care of all you can before laying down, this will ensure you will have less on your mind to worry about.
