Have you heard that there is pus in milk??

Question: I was sent this web page by a friend (yea right thanks pal) and I am so disgusted. Could it be true that pus would be present in milk even after the Pasteurization process?www.milksucks.com/pus.asp
Answers: I was raised on a dairy farm and I can tell you that it's true.

Cows develop what is called mastitis. It's an infection in their milk glands. Farmers are supposed to check each cow for it before they milk them, but sometimes this doesn't happen, or the mastitis isn't readily apparent at first. So the infected milk is added to all the milk and shipped out as one batch.

There is testing done, but there are acceptable limits so you are indeed consuming pus in milk and milk products.
There may be pus in small amounts in milk, but after it's pasteurized, the bacteria are dead, so it doesn't matter.
God, i should hope not. Sounds gross. Give us the rest of the adress.....
Exactly what Hush said. Even humans can get mastitis and still feed their children via breastmilk. All food products have something gross in them. There are FDA guidelines on how many flies in something are acceptable.

What doesnt kill you just makes you stronger.
Really. {I vomited}
The most damaging stress-related disease is mastitis (an inflammation of the udders). It reduces milk yield and directly affects milk quality by altering composition and increasing the somatic cell count (pus).
