What's the difference between orthopedic doctor and chiropractor??

Answers: An orthopedic doctor is basically a specialised medical doctor who will prescribe medicine when required and perform surgery when he or she feels as though it is required.

A Chiropractor is an alternative health care professional who speacialises in manual therapy without the use of drugs or surgery. They work usually on the spine to adjust the vertabrae which they feel as though have come out of allignment and could be interfering with nerve conduction.

Both are health care professionals who try and restore their patients to the best of their ability, however due to the differing techniques in doing this, don't always see eye to eye about what treatment a patient should undertake.

Really, which one you go to should depend on what sort of health care you are into. If you like the thought of manual health care then give Chiropractic a go, if you don't, then don't bother. You can always opt out if you don't like one or the other.
Orthopedic doctors are usually the ones that perform the surgery to repair any structural damage to the body.( torn ligaments, severely broken bones, etc. ) a chiropractor is able to readjust the bones in the body to their correct alignment. Chiropractors will never perform an operation on a patient.
