Is drinking a lot of Milk bad??
Question: Today at school I drank about 7 cartons of milk (the small ones they give you in public school with the lunches), and on Friday I drank about 8 cartorns of milk. I am 15 years old female and I am not obese, my BMI is normal (21.3). Is it bad to drink this much milk for my age or circumstances?
Answers: Only if you are allergic to it - otherwise, if you are eating healthy in general, I don't think it is bad.
If you go on drinking those quantities of skim or no skim milk you are a good candidate for developing kidney stones before you are 30. The trick here is the high Ca content in milk. I do not want to frighten you, but a kidney stone blockage causes some of the most intense pain known to man, worse than difficult childbirth. So its your call.
the cartons are quite small, but thats alot to drink in just a short period of time. it wouldnt hurt to ask the school nurse about it, or your parents. if you are really thirsty, you should drink water instead. remember drinking too much can actually be bad for you. even low fat milk still has some considerable calories, and too muh may give you some stomach ache.
milk contains a lot of hormones. and you will get bigger because of it. everywhere.
eventually the lactose will catch up with you, but you should be fine. The worst thats going to happen is you might have loose bowels (lol). Just remember, even though skim, 1% and 2% have less fat, they are actually worse off for you. people who drink whole milk get more vitamins from it, and actually stand less of a chance of becoming lactose intolerant. myself? I hate milk.
Sounds like you are just dehydrated. Try more water. Milk and dairy in general are mucous producing.

Any milk beyond infancy is too much. You have absolutely no dietary requirement for anything in cow's milk, and would be much better off avoiding milk and all other dairy products. Look towards fortified orange juice if your concern is with calcium intake.
Humans are the only animal that drinks milk past infancy, and then it's not even from the correct species! Too many people are still trying to defend milk's supposed health benefits. Unfortunately, they are either using old information or information obtained from research funded by the dairy association. How many people would enjoy a glass of dog's milk or rat's milk? What makes cows special?
There are only two reasons which I've found to support humans drinking cow's milk. We have grown up hearing that it's good for us and we've grown accustomed to the taste and texture. There is absolutely no nutrition that can not be obtained elsewhere, minus the negatives. Calcium seems to be the major claim for milk. It can be found elsewhere in green vegetables, almonds, and many other sources. Where do you think the cows obtain the calcium to put into the milk? Where do other larger animals (elephants, horses, deer, whales, etc) get calcium? Why we continue to drink cow's milk laced with growth hormones, antibiotics, and who knows what else is beyond me.
Since I've given up drinking milk about 5 years ago my health has greatly improved. I suffer fewer allergy problems, asthma and breathing problems are greatly reduced, I'm sleeping better, and I have more energy.
In the '50s smoking was considered harmless but now we realize its dangers. One person at a time and eventually the truth will become widely known that cow's milk is only for baby cows. Milk is indeed the perfect food, but only for infants of the proper species.
