Stomach Pain??

Question: ok, last night before I went to sleep I started having a sharp pain in the centre of my stomach, this kept me awake for a few hours then gradually died down. Then like 10 minutes ago the same pain came back but this time in my lower right side of my stomach. Its more of a discomfort than big pain, I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10 the pain is probably 6/7. Does anyone know what this could be?
Answers: Honestly, it could be anything from gas pains and constipation to appendicitis. Normally, however, appendicitis pain does not go away and is fairly constant once it begins. Your appendix is located on the lower right quadrant of your abdoomen, however pain from appendicities can migrate to the center of your stomach as well. Have you tried taking any medications that might relieve gas? If it doesn't subside with over the counter medications such as GasX or a basic Tylenol, you may want to consider going to an Urgent Care center where you can see a physician fairly quickly. Or, if the pain subsides on it's own, make a appointment to see your primary care physician early next week. (I wouldn't recommend going to an ER since you have non-life threatening symptoms.)
I would say if you are really worried go to your family doctor or a clinic. Once the pain gets to like an 8 go to the hospital. I had sharp pains this summer and it turns out I had a kidney stone and a kidney infection both are treatable, so don't worry. They can find out using urine samples, ultrasounds and other methods. If you think it is just stomach pain you might want to try like a gravol, it helps me sleep. If it is gas, there are tums, and rolaids in different flavours that don't taste aweful and they help. Good luck sweetie.
