She has a nasty bruise!!!??
Question: My friend and I donated blood on friday but the nurse guy accidentaly went through her vain!!!! and now she has the nastyest bruise ever because i guess her blood is like leaking out in the indside idk it's sooo disgusting!! and she's all scared the nurse dude told her to keep putting ice in it. But,, do u know of anything else she can do to make this get better????

I wouldn't put ice on it. Hold pressure (look for swelling or a cord like appearance moving up the vein, if this happens seek medical attention. She probably has a hematoma (bruising under the skin) she will be soar for two or three days. The bruising should move down her arm the next couple of days or weeks. Seek attention if anything moves up the arm. It is never bad to take an anti-inflammatory like Advil or take a baby aspirin if she can tolerate it. If you notice any swelling or increased redness have her see a doctor. Blood clots in superficial veins are not dangerous unless they keep going up the arm
Just leave it alone, Carter Bloodcare did the same thing to me. it looked horrible and it didn't go away for more than a month. it'll start fading away after 2-3 weeks

Ice is good--it will help limit the amount of swelling and bleeding. Despite the first response, do not take aspirin or advil--both these drugs knock out platelet function and contribute to oozing. Bruises take their own sweet time to heal--the body has to reabsorb all that blood. Nothing much you can do--just have your friend proudly say she saved a life giving blood!
