My mother is having back surgery.??

Question: Well she has her discs in her back grinding on each other and she needs surgery..
The doctor said:
7/10 shes gonna be happy
2/10 Its gonna be the same
1/10 its going to be worse

I was wondering could she die if she had this surgery? Or maybe during this surgery..
They said it was a very dificult procedure.
Im just worried something may happen to her.
Answers: Of course that is possible with any surgical procedure, but it is not likely. As long as the hospital has a good reputation & the surgeon has had experience in theis particular proce-dure, its reasonable to expect a good outcome. The odds he gave seem to indicate that the risk is there, but minimal. She'll need lots of help afterwards, & hopefully the family will be there & be helpful.
Don't worry, they will not operate if they think she is too much of a risk to go under the anesthetic. I have just had the same surgery done and was scared of the same thing, but I would never be again. Of course there is always a risk and they HAVE to tell you that, but there is a risk if you go out and cross the road, or get on a bus. These are highly skilled people, and they know what they are doing. They do these operations all the time. Your mother will be in good hands.
nah she wont die, i mean its possible but i garentee you she wont. they know what there doing, trust me. just dont worry she wont die
Sorry to say that any time one is put under using general anesthesia there's a chance there could be fatal consequences.
No need to worry......I had the same surgery and after your back heals (3 to 6 months) she will be just fine. Every surgery has a risk, but highly unlikely! I have felt so much better after mine and would do it again if needed. The doctors watch you very closely while you are in surgery. That is their job. They will also treat her like a queen when she comes out of surgery. Hope the best for her.
Before taking anyone to surgery they run tests to make sure everything is OK. If every things clear they will proceed with surgery. everything will be fine don't worry.
