I can never sleep please help me??
Question: i can never sleep. I usually go to bet around 10:30-11:00, but i fall asleep around 1 am maybe later. I have school, and i try as much as i can not to miss it, becasue it's the beginning of a new semester, and so ar i haven't, but it is reallyy hard on me when i only get 6 hours of sleep per night. I am 14 and i am not on any sleeping pills, and i would not like to take those, because i've heard they are dangerous
the only time i can sleep is on weekends, and even then, imy dogs always wake me up.
I've tried everything everyone says about sleeping: having a bath, hot milk, chamomile tea, and EVERYTHING else.
it's really hard on me so could you please help me
Answers: I used to have this same problem when I was your age until a friend of mine took me to a Buddhist Temple. They taught us how to meditate.
When your lying in bed at night-
lay on your back
eyes closed
Start to take deep breaths
start counting them
for example:
Inhale........exhale......1.......inha... and so on
but this really helped me, and hey, when you get stressed out and feel like putting the fear of god into someone, just use this method!
good luck
Pills isn't the answer to everything. Taking the wrong type of pill could make things worse. Sleeping pills can cut down on REM sleep and even though you may look asleep you actually end up with less benificial sleep.
Start with a doctor to see if there may be some underlying problems. He can also do some blood work to be sure things are balanced in your system. You could be missing some vitamin or mineral in your diet.
Go the safe way, not the risky one. Using pills to solve a problem is good, if you take the right pill for the right problem.pp
There are a lot of sleeping pills out there, be sure not to take Ambien, you can go to a pharmacy counter and inquire about a low dosage to a medium or even high sleep aid. Besides, you need to learn to be organized, try not to think about school and related matter before you go to sleep for you won't be able to thinking about such complex matter, after 9PM th only thing the brain should do is rest.
you have one very simple problem....stress! You have an underline stress that keeps your adrenaline running and you don't even notice it. Your problem? Get a hobby....trust me. You need something to take the egde off of a very busy and tasking schedule...something you enjoy....something that relaxes you....something soothing. Or else you'll never get any sleep at your rate...those little tricks others say won't help. If you worked out, you'd see a huge difference. You need to balance your body's workload....switch it from mental to physical. then things will change for you. I had that problem several times over the years. Working out and having a hobby I enjoyed thoroughly helped. good luck
Are you under a lot of stress? Are your classes or maybe one class is very hard and you worry about it a lot? Are you worried about your grade point average, maybe your parents want you to have high grades. Do you eat something before you go to bed? If you eat veggies, they are ruff and will not help you sleep at all, things that have lots of spice in them like pizza, cold or hot is a no no.
Have you seen your family DR? At 14 you are way to young to be taking sleeping pills. Good for not using those things. It sounds like stress....is there someone who you can trust and really talk with about important issues in your life right now?
take sleeping pills.
count in reverse from 500 to 1....
think about weird stuffs which are really tough to understand....
try to concentrate on something.... in the beginning it ll be difficult and your brain gets tired easily if u try to concentrate in a point for long and u ll fall asleep....

Sounds like perhaps 'anxiety' during the week may be keeping you from sleeping....try meditation, not eating or drinking any foods, or soda with caffeine 3 to 4 hours before sleep....watch the caffeine in hidden foods and drinks.....
If you go to bed 2 hours before sleep, perhaps you could try to go to bed a little later, it may help you???
good luck
Try sleeping earlier, like... 8pm-9:30pm... or even eariler!
I've had this problem before, so I tried sleeping much earlier and I feel asleep! :D
Also, if it takes you long to fall asleep at those early times...
ex: You go to bed at 9:30am, but you dont go to sleep 'till let's say... 10 or 11, but then you have a longer night of sleep. Rather than going to bed at 10-11, and going to sleep at 1am...
You get my point?
Try this, Sleepytime Tea from Green Tea. You can this out of Wal-mart, Bi-Lo or any other department store. Either a Herb store (Earth Fare or Whole Market).
This will work everytime
read a badly written book
