Answers: If you are having this much trouble with crutches, I'm wondering if they were correctly fitted for you when you got them?

They should not be up tight in your arm pit (you can damage nerves in this area). When your hand is on the crutch hand piece, your arm should have a slight bend at the elbow. Take your weight through your hands when your leg swings through, not in your arm pit. Try to take smaller, more frequent strides.

Crutches are exhausting, so rest as much as possible.

If you continue to have problems, then maybe just strapping your ankle well (or using a boot) and using a walking stick may be acceptable, but best to check with your doctor.

Other options are to stay home and have your school work brought to you, or hire a wheel chair until you are mobile again.

Good luck!
