I'm Still in Pain with My Ankle...Is This Normal??
Question: Okay, I fractured tibia and fibia 7 months ago and had 2 surgery for putting in and removing out the hardware (9 screws and a plate). Because I was still having problems with the swelling of my ankle and pain, I received a cortisone shot a month ago from my orthopedic doctor. Now after one month later, I am still having trouble with range of motion. I am limping, and whenever I come back home afterschool, my ankle is swollen and in pain. It's not the kind of pain you can't bare, but it hurts around the ankle, and feels gross (discomforting) inside. What is wrong with my ankle? Do you think I got see an orthopedic doctor again?
Answers: I won't beat around the bush here. Your injury was quite severe and will continue to give you problems unless you can restore your range of motion and strength in the area. Did you ever have physical therapy for your ankle when you came out of surgery? Seems like the answer here is seeing the Ortho. again simply for a referral to a Physical therapist. If you are still school aged then you have great potential to come out of this with no long term problems---just don't wait any longer on the PT.
did u try putting some type of cream like tiger palm on it if not try otherwise ya go see the doc again they'll probably know what's wrong.
