Morphine withdrawal and a bad heart.??

Question: My mother had severe spine problems that couldnt be corrected, so she was placed on a morphine program to curb her pain. After Hurricane Katrina we moved to Nashville and her new Doctor refused to give her morphine, and after 2 years of taking this she went into severe withdrawal and then died,,,,she was 65. She had hart surgery 5 years ago and was on a pacemaker. Could the morphine withdrawal be the cause of her death?
Answers: it could have contributed and possibly induced her death. as much as I hate to suggest this, perhaps you should consult an attorney.
It may have been because Withdrawl from any drug puts an ultra amount of stress on your body.I seriously believe natural causes is not likly in this case
morphine withdrawal can be dramatic, but I would not think that it could lead to death.
Sorry for your loss!
morphine needs to cut slowly, however death can cause by million reason
Although withdrawal isn't usually fatal, on an older patient with heart problems, she would need to be tapered off the drug, not stopped suddenly. Only an autopsy will tell you cause of death.
She was also subject to the horror of the hurricane and the move which impacts her health. Plus her pacemaker...was it working?
I would strongly suggest asking your doctor if he or she knows the answer. If not, he or she probably knows where to find this out that would be more reliable than asking people on the internet.
