Hey, i need to know is there any relation betweeen mucous secretion & milk products??
Question: if there is a relation is it akind of allargy & is it due to lactose intolerance? is their any mucolytic agent avialable?
Answers: YES!! There is definitely a relationship between mucous secretion and milk products. It is difficult to find good information about this, because much of the information is put out by the dairy industry with regards to calcium and the health benefits of milk. Sure there are probably plenty, but NOT when you are ALLERGIC to it, like me!!! Aand there are never any studies on food unless there is a drug involved (no $ in researching something that can't be perscribed). With that said, I have tried many trips to the doctor and alternative doctors to see why I am constantly sick, have a pilonidal cyst, always have a chronic cough and a runny nose, and many people who have asthma (although I don't have asthma). A LOT of people who are not lactose intolerant, but truly have an ALLERGY to the protein in milk... their bodies secrete a lot of mucus -causing all the above health problems. I can't get any doctor to verify it, but I have NONE of those problems when I do not drink milk, and they all come storming back when I do. I wish there was more research out on this, because I think a lot of people are suffering needlessly from a milk allergy that is undiagnosed.
Yes and no. Some people do make more mucus when they drink milk, and any high- fat food may produce a sensation of thicker secretions in the back of the throat. Yet, the mucus-producers are probably those that are allergic to milk. Separating out milk-allergic persons, research fails to show any correlation between drinking milk and mucus production during a cold and no statistically significant overall association can be detected between milk and dairy product intake and symptoms of mucus production in healthy adults, either asymptomatic or symptomatic, with rhinovirus infection.
hi did read that it was not good to drink milk before going to bed if you have Asama, because he makes more mucus
