Can anyone convince me that I do not have a brain tumor??
Question: So all of January and this past week I have had headaches about every other day to even 2 days apart . I felt nausea and sometimes I'll get really hot and my forehead will sweat and then it will go away. Back in the middle of January I experienced dizziness and blurred vision. I keep thinking I'm going to die, but i'm 17 years old. And I have always had sinus problems, just not like this. One thing that makes me think it is just a sinus infection is that when I swallow my ears pop. Does anyone have a clue for what I have? It always feels way worse when it's cold outside, like today.
Answers: Honey, you may be suffering of cervical problems.
I do... and sometimes experienced them. However, in 2003 the episode lasted for a long time...and after some physical therapy started to get much better...
Wish you the best
go to your docter....or google brain tumors and look at the symptoms....if all of them match you then you definently need to go to your docter if not your A okay but still need to go to your docter for your problems so you can get proper medication for it
you probably have migranes. they can take all sorts of forms --especially dizzy and vision problems. i also think if it were a brain tumor it wouldn't just come and go...it would just come and get worse. you really should just go to the dr. they will tell you that it's nothing to worry about and you'll feel much better. if it's something to worry about, he can tell you that too.
best!
I can't convince you that you do not have a brain tumor, but I am sure a doctor can.
I had migraines for five years, migraines that lasted a week. I asked for an MRI and was told it was'just perimenipause'
One weekend the migraine was so bad, my husband took me to the ER, where even IV morphine did not make the pain go down even a notch. So the smart Doc finally gave me a CAT scan, where she saw a mass. They sent me to a brain tumor specialty center, the surgeon ordered an MRI right away, and told me I need surgery, and he would not recommend waiting. That night did a crainiotomy, full resection. The pathology report came back a few days later.

By all means INSIST on an MRI or Cat scan. don't let what happened to me happen to you. I would have had a better chance had we caught this four years ago instead of the Docs all looking the other way and thinking I was just whinning over a headache. Please, do all you can to find out what is going on in there. I don't mean to scare you, gut I was too worried agout being 'nice' so I wasn't assertife enough.
If you had a brain tumor, you would most likely not have sinus symptoms, but with the blurred vision, you should be getting to a health specialist for evaluation.
If your spine is out of alignment, a Chiropractor can help you. Your symptoms do sound like a misalignment could be making it worse, if not causing them entirely.
Thinking you are going to die can manifest poor health symptoms. Visualize health and take good care of your body, eat healthy foods, drink lots of water, and see a Naturopath or Ayurvedic practitioner, if the Chiropractic adjustments do not help.
I can't convince you of anything!!! Go to your doctor and get checked, he knows best. It might not be a brain tumor, it might be. Most likely it is not but getting checked helps to treat it if it is caught early like yours. Probably not a Brain Tumor though. Still go get CHECKED JUST IN CASE.
It sounds like your sinus may need to be flushed. Brain tumour would affect your co-ordination, sight (you may stop seeing certain colours or start seeing 'auras' for example) memory... You sound like you have a really nasty infection. Get Well Soon. By the way, anxiety could be causing some of your symptoms.
At your age, I would go for the minor things first: allergies, sinus problems; migraines - all of which can be easily treated. Hopefully you are taking some tylenol or ibuprofen on a regular basis for the headaches, trying some over the counter decongestant for the possible sinus problems. Lots of sinus drainage and the headaches can cause the nausea - this is a normal occurrence if these things are occurring. Try treating these things and if unsuccessful, talk with you doctor about your symptoms. Until all of the minor things have been ruled out, you cannot consider a brain tumor.
It would be in your best interest to see your physician, and he or she will most likely send you for some routine blood work and a cat (computerized axial tomography) scan of your head. That will help to rule things out. Please don't ever try to self-diagnose especially with something as serious as cancer :) If those tests turn out negative (ok), perhaps an ear, nose and throat (ent) dr can help to provide a diagnosis especially if having sinus problems and dizziness. As others have mentioned, the blurriness and headaches can be a sign of migraines or such. An ophthalmologist can help to determine if those symptoms are from migraines or (not to scare you even more ;) a detached retina.

P.S. If one finds that he or she worries about his or her health a lot, it may be in part due to an anxiety disorder known as ocd/obsessive-compulsive disorder. An obsession (repetitive thought or fear) with one's health is a symptom of ocd though you don't necessarily have the disorder ;) Just food for thought if it happens often. For more info on ocd: http://www.ocfoundation.org I have ocd myself and take the ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant prozac and also received cognitive-behavioral therapy for the ocd just fyi :)
