Creatine mixing??

Question: I want to mix my creatine with things that won't waste it. I've heard that mixing with orange juice is bad because the citric acid is not so good with creatine. But then I've heard people say to mix it with GRAPEJUICE. Is it alright with grapejuice even with the acid?? Also, I've heard that its good to mix creatine with sugar stuff. So far I've mixed mine with milk and honey. but I was wondering, can I mix it with APPLESAUCE ??? I'm just not sure about the applesauce again because of the citric acid. Could I add creatine with yogurt??? Any help would be great, THANKS!
Answers: Creatine should never be mixed with ANY fruit juice. All fruit juice contains fructose.Fructose and creatine react in your digestive tract to form creatinine. You definitely don't want to do anything to elevate your creatinine levels. The citric acid is completely irrelevant.

This is a peer reviewed artcle that explains the wechanism in which creatine is converted to creatinine.

Creatine should also not be combined with other free form amino acids.Creatine is an amino acid compound, amino acids compete for absorption.
Always supplement creatine with some kind of sugar based drink. The glucose will cause a rise in blood sugar thus causing and insulin secretion.Insulin is the hormone resposible for transporting nutrients to the mitochondria of our cells.

NEVER use any type of strong diuretic with creatine.Craetine has shown links to cell dehydration,so diuretics could increase certain risks, som as simple as craping, some as bad as death(very unlikely but there have been a few cases).
So I'd suggest using and inexpensive drink mix that doesn't contain fructose,or you can use ready made products like Posphagen.Phosphagen also contains phosphorus, essential for the conversion of creatine monohydrate to creatine phosphate.Your body will only store the phosphate form of creatine as phosphocreatine.

This is a good article as well.

I actually mix my creatine with Designer Whey, virtually sugar free, but studies have shown it to have a positive effect in insulin and insulinlike growth factor(IGF-1) secretion in athletes.
Due to the bodies call for nutrients post workout,it's always better to take creatine after your traing. The time you take it on off training days has never been evaluated.
It doesnt really matter what you take it with, infact you can just take it with water and you will be fine. But, some people say that it is good to take with somethin that contains sugars. As it will absorb better in your body. For example, like grape juice, or gatorade. Just an thing, that has some sugar to it, as it will help hinder the taste to it, if you just have the pure creatine, which taste bad by itself.
Just make sure you stay well hydrated. Creatine hasn't been passed by the FDA and is being studied in cases of athlete's deaths linked to dehydration.
for optimum results you want to mix your creatine with a liquid that has glucose based sugars in it. that's why grape juice is recommended. you can use pineapple juice or even a very ripe banana. the starches turn to sugars in bananas as it ripens.

don't worry about the acidity of any juice, etc. that you mix your creatine with, it has no adverse effects on the effectiveness of it.
well your best to mixes it with grape juice but yogurt and that is fine but its best to take creatine in the morning 5 grams or a heaped teaspoon
