Which is healthier? Regular milk or soy milk??
Question: I love milk and only drink fat free skim. If I want to start trimming some fat from my waist, I wonder if I should continue on regular milk or is soy milk better for me?

hi there. the comment that soy milk has LESS fat is simply untrue. If you are drinking skim milk, it has less fat than soy.
It is the TYPE of fat you need to consider. Regular milk has saturated fat, (the bad fat) that contributes to heart disease. Soy milk contains unsaturated, and does not clog arteries. It is also cholesterol free.
But there is fat free regular milk and fat free soy milk so there's really not much difference. Whatever tatse you prefer.
But if you were going full fat, i would recommend soy as it has less saturated fat and no cholesterol.
the soy protien is healthier for your heart and is eaiser on your kidneys but if consuming in moderate amount either is fine

Soy milk, definitely because it has less fat, and it has SOY! Soy, is WAY healthier. I am not Lactose Intolerant, but the taste of milk gives me a stomach ache. For some strange reason, Soymilk is delicious to me! Odd, huh!

Many soy milk brands have some fat - they're low fat but not fat free much of the time. Both skim milk and soy milk are healthy. Go with what you prefer. Soy milk is sweet and more watery, I think. Some people say that we don't need to drink cow's milk at all -- that it's better to get the calcium from other sources.
I'm in agreement with the last few posters. Soy milk is much healthier for you, but there is also Rice milk. That is another option. Recently I've tried Rice milk for the first time and I was surprised how good it was. Of course everybody's likes are different, but it wouldn't hurt to try it out.

well, soymilk is common in japan--which happens to have among the longest living, healthiest people on the earth.
and soymilk does not contain fat like regular milk from cows.
and really, when you think about it, cow milk is for a cow's baby. So why do humans drink it? Soy milk is definitely healthier, but not as tasty for most people....
