Is oatmeal enough for breakfast??

Question: I have oatmeal every morning (about 1.5-2cups) with a bit of brown sugar and milk...is this enough for the morning? I always feel full but I think its under 200 calories which is usually not enough for breakfast.
Answers: If you're concerned about keeping a standard 400 calorie breakfast instead of your usual 200, start eating 1/2 a grapefruit or a meium piece of fruit, cup of berries.
Fruit isn't that much more filling so you wont feel uncomforable after you meal.
Sounds like plenty to me. That is what my husband has every morning, keeps him full until lunchtime as well. Only thing I could imagine that you'd maybe want to add is a fruit of some type, either in the oatmeal or on the side.
yes its an excellent breakfast food because it has alot of fiber so thats why you feel full and the whole grain oats are better then a donut any day
Thats all I have for breakfast...if you get hungry or feel sluggish...grab some fruit or nuts to help boost your energy.
What kind of oatmeal is it? If you are eating Quick Oats or instant oatmeal, it is definately not enough, because it is just processed, simplified carbs (empty carbs) Instead, try one of these: Steel cut oats, which are the whole oat grain cut up intead of rolled flat, and very high in complex carbohydrates and very healthy; Meusli flakes, which is rolled oatmeal (not the quick-oats kind) that has all kinds of great things in it... flax seed, whole wheat, rye, small bits of chopped dried dates, raisins, almond slivers, etc... it is REALLY yummy, extremely healthy, and would definately be a complete breakfast. And, you can order it online, Bob's Red Mill has all kinds of different oatmeal, all organic and gluten-free. Here is the website, and happy eating!
