I need help with a balanced diet program to lose weight??

Question: I'm 5'5 and weight 73kg. I would like to be 60kg.

I'm working on a plan.

Run 1hr every morning Mon to Fri (I can do this quite comfortably)

Breakfast: Bran cereal with soya milk
or Soya yoghurt with fruit

Lunch: Large leafy salad

Dinner: Large portion of steamed vegetables

Throughout day...lots of water, herbal teas

If you have any other ideas, please provide your suggestions.

cheers
Answers: Running is a great idea!
Your breakfast sounds good--try to pick out a cereal and milk with high protein, and don't forget 1 fruit serving!

I think you need to add a protein item with your large salad! Be sure to use a low-fat dressing. If you're still hungry, throw in a fruit!

Where's your mid day snack? This should be a protein item AND a fruit.

Your dinner--eat more! Where's the protein? You can have a protein, 2 veggie servings (or more), and a big salad!
Be sure to get in a fat serving each day!

Your plan looks pretty good--you should just add in a few things! Don't be afraid to eat 4-6 small healthy meals each day.
Good luck!☺
I would recommend eating more protein, and even if you are a vegetarian, you can still get it. Although salad and vegetables are good, you'll want some other things to go with. I would recommend adding fruit or carbs as snacks throughout the day. Remember: eat at least 5 equally-portioned meals each day for maximum effect.

If the yoghurt you are eating has more than 10g of sugar, I would recommend eating something else. I would personally recommend plain oatmeal with fruit.

I also don't know how well you'll be able to stick on this diet. That's a very hard, plain diet.

Good luck!
There is some useful advice here.
You do need more protein. Also, it's just not enough. I have always read it is best to eat 6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism up. I would add some more to your diet.
