Whey protein and acne??
Question: Ive been taking whey protein for a little over a week now and my acne is starting to get worse... is the protein causing it? or is it that i am mixing it with skim milk? please any advise will help, thanks.
Answers: skim milks makes you produce more oil and/ or... close your pores so they can't breath so you'll get acne. I stopeed drinking skim and my face is almost clear!
It is not the skim milk it is the excess protein. too much of it causes acne. Weight lifters have this problem because they take in too much protein for their muscles--trouble is, it can cause acne in excess when supplements like yours are taken..cut back on it and stop it until it clears..then go back slowly keeping watch on it.

No idea, now that I notice it... I could be getting more acne from the whey protein... hmm I been wondering why I get more acne lately.
You can try putting it in soy milk and see if that makes a difference. Soy milk is supposed to be better for the skin than any other milks.
I'm allergic to carrageenan, which is a seaweed additive that is being put into a lot of dairy lately. One of the things it does is to cause my skin to break out painfully. You might check to see if the whey contains carrageenan. If it does, look for a whey product that is carrageenan free and see if your skin improves.
