What do I do about my daughters weight problem??

Question: My daughter is 11 years old. She weighs almost 120lbs. I keep a close eye on her portions and we have switched from cows milk to soy and rice milk. We have also cut down on bread and cheese. She doesn't want to join any sports group like soccer or anything lke that. What else can I do to help her?
Answers: You sound like you are doing a good job already.

Try some of the following to get her to exercise more;
family bike rides, long walks or swimming trips. Try to walk places that you would usually drive to or get a bus.

When she has friends over get them to play in the garden if you have one or the street if it's safe. Get her any of the following; a bike, roller blades/skates, skipping rope, hula hoop, football, badminton, trampoline set etc

If you have a garden you could give her a patch to grow flowers, fruit or vegetables. Gardening can be quite active, think of all the digging and raking and it will get her out there in the fresh air.
hmm... have here know its ok to eat junk food in moderation then start introducing good healthy foods. if not contact honey we're killing our kids, its a show on tlc about nutriton.
You can enroll her in a swimming class, go for walks with her, buy bicycles and ride bikes with her...limitless oportunities for EXERCISE!
make her exercise. jumping rope, running, swimming. any type of aerobic exercise. start out slow then build up. its not about how much you eat. its about how much more you burn off than you take in.
Make it fun for her to be outside. Play with her, take walks regularly, maybe she has a health condition. if you can try to keep her carb. intake to under 5mg on things like drinks or foods that are wrapped. ie candy bars. make sure she drinks lots of fluids. And this may sound harsh but if she will drink an 8oz. glass of water before meals she will trick her body into thinking it is full and she will eat less. Vegetables and meats like fish are very good when trying to lose weight.
well the way you said it your daughter has a eatting problem just get rid of all fat growing foods and snacks in the frige .and then excercise . swim run or crunches getm the ab lounge
