Am i allowed drink milk on atkins??????????

Answers: you are not supposed to. however, i was on atkins also and i love milk. the milk we drink is processed and has so may additives tht what i did was bought organic milk and limited the milk. if you need it for coffee or cereal, they recommend half and half which i usually added a bit of water to.atkins has a paperback book available in many supermarkets. it has alot of info and suggestions. you may want to purchase it.
One cup of 2% milk has 12g of carbohydrates. You can drink it if you want based on how many carbs you are eating each day. Just don't drink too much. I would suggest about one cup at the most. You might be able to get away with drinking more if it was skim or 1% but you should just read the labels.
Hi there,

No you are not if you are in Phase 1 or even Phase 2. Milk has a lot more sugar in it than you think. Your best bet is cream and none of that whimpy 18% stuff!! LOL, I use 35% Whipping Cream for everything! If you find the thickness is too much you can always water it down, especially when baking. Oh, I've been living a low-carb lifestyle for 6 years now. I lost 55 pounds, the most of it (40 lbs) in 8 weeks. Now that I am on maintenance I could reintroduce milk to my diet but actually, I can not stand how watery it tastes; even table cream seems too weak for me. The only thing negative about whipping cream is that is does not work well for making ice cream: too much fat and not enough water for proper freezing!

Cheers.
