Can someone give me a good recommendation for GOOD dental insurance and the details??
Answers: There is no such thing as good dental insurance.
Best of luck to you!!
Many people think highly of Delta dental. You could try them. But my personal experience is - if you can't get dental through your employer, you might as well not bother. When you put pen to paper on individual policies, they never pay out more than what you will pay in premiums.
If you truly want to save money on dental care, try going to a dental school in your area. Checkup with x-rays at my former dentist office was $300+. We now go to a dental school, and the cost for checkup with x-rays is about $130 with a graduate student. It's FREE with an undergraduate student. We use the free option when we are not experiencing dental problems.
You may also want to look into re-pricing plans, although I doubt you will get a better deal than the dental school.
Finally, if you live in a Southwestern state, and you need major work done, there are many fine dentists in Mexico just across the border. Fillings here run about $150, but about $30 in Mexico. Just make sure you check out there credentials with the appropriate dental boards before doing so.
