Suggest me a good desensitiser??
Question: my pts suffer from sensitivty after placing crowns ,please suggest me a good remedy or desensitiser.
Answers: First and most obvious is to be sure that the margins are adequate before you cement the crown. I do not use Gluma prior to cementation, but several dentists do. Some dentists apply a dentin bonding agent (primer and resin) in a thin layer prior to cementation. A self-etching bonding resin cement, such as Rely-X Unicem, will do a lot to reduce post-op sensitivity, but you really need to have a clean and dry tooth for successful application.
Before taking your impression, consider if there are any areas that are close to the pulp and cover them with a glass ionomer, such as Vitrebond, prior to taking the impression. You may need to use a build-up material that would stay in place through the whole procedure, meaning something that will not come out when you take the impression and make the temporary crown.
Avoid seating the crown too rapidly. By this I mean, place the crown over the tooth and then take 2-3 seconds to seat it instead of really jamming it down into place.
my question to u is...what the heck is pts?
Ask your doctor is Jack Daniels is right for you. :D
