What is it like to get your wisdom teeth pulled??
Question: Don't scare me
Answers: It's not that bad.
My best advice is to only have them do a local anesthetic, not a general.
In other words, they just numb your mouth, they don't put you completely unconscious like a surgical operation.
All the people I've known who have gone completely under have suffered from nausea and other after effects from the anasthesia and taken days to recover. I had a local and (very carefully) ate a cheeseburger that night.
I dont know I have to get all four taken out and I'm scared as hell!
I had all four at once. They gave me the happy gas, It made it go really fast and i don't remember much at all. After you are sort of out of it for a while. It hurt pritty bad when all meds wore off. It depends alot if they take any bone with any of the teeth, they did mine. Make sure you put the cold packs on your cheeks and follow all their directions, but see if they will give you anything for the pain, motrin, tylenol 3 something like that, you will need it. Just take
this process itself wasn't that bad. i didn't get knocked out, but that can do that. i just put my headphones on and listened to music. afterward is the hard part. it was terrible. you just sit around an drool blood on yourself.
For me it wasn't that bad. My oral surgeon gave me two options: local anesthetic and local plus sedation, meaning I'd basically be asleep. I opted for the latter thinking it would less traumatic than being aware of what they were doing. Three of my wisdom teeth were partially impacted by bone, so they had to remove bits of bone to get them out. I followed the aftercare instructions carefully (kept the incision sites irrigated with the plastic syringe they gave me) and kept ice on my jaws for a large part of the first day. I had very little observable swelling and didn't even use the prescription painkillers they gave me. All in all it was not a bad experience.
idk. im only 15 goin on 16.
Only have your wisdom teeth removed by a specialist oral & maxillofacial surgeon. Go to http://oceansurgical.com.au/ to find out more about wisdom teeth, and how you shouldn't have too many (or any) problems from proper specialist removal of wisdom teeth.
you can decide to get sedated so you won't even feel a thing..to remove all 4 wisdom teeth only takes about 30 minutes..the longest part of the treatment is you recovering from being sedated..it's no biggy so don't worry..
This is what I did - had laughing gas so the doc could give me an IV to knock me out... I don't remember a thing - the best way to have it done. I woke up less 4 teeth and with a shake in my hand from my sister. Pretty much was asleep the rest of the day. Face was a bit puffy for 2/3 days, but really not that bad of a deal.
