If you've ever had braces, did you have a special toothbrush??
Question: I had braces when I was a teenager, and my dentist gave me a special toothbrush with an indent in it, to brush around the metal.
Answers: yea my ortho gave it to me...and no didn't say anything about gums but i don't chew gums anyway
No special toothbrush but I did have a WaterPik too.

No I didn't have a special t.brush & I hated the braces & had them removed before the correction was complete. I've never regretted that decision.
I had a regular toothbrush and this handy dandy brush that looked kind of like a miniature bottle brush that went underneath the wire attached to the brackets.

As a dentist I advice the patients to use special toothbrush if they have braces. However, if the patient is highly cooperative and has good use with the normal toothbrush with the use of mouthwash, that will be enough.
I just used the normal toothbrushes and I had braces for four years.....
My sister has braces and she continues to use her regular toothbruth; nothing special.
