I am taking red yeast rice and st. johns wort, is this a bad combo??
Answers: No, but red yeast rice is a statin so check your liver enzymes every so often (every six months).
not a bad combo they wont antagonise each other. Why do you ask?
Red yeast rice is a great natural statin with major benefits and few if any side effects but it is still a statin. One thing that any statin will do is cause your body to stop production of CoQ10 so it must be supplemented to protect the heart. Go to your local health food store and please get some CoQ10 to go with your red yeast rice its vitally important. If you were taking a prescription statin you'd still need the CoQ10.
Hope this helps you.
