Can someone guide me to a high quality multivitamin for men??
Answers: Centrum
one a day are centrum would be the most common.
there would be multiple companies out there with quality products. a highly regarded multivitamin would contain many activated forms of the vitamin mineral and in readily absorbed forms ie mycalised. the synthetic debate is a contentious one by the facts in many instances point out that synthetic is just fine...look up vitamin C for example natural or synthetic without any impurities, cannot be differentiate in a laboratory...the 22min story is a load of crap..
Sorry, but all those vitamins listed above are no good. They are synthetic, therefore your body can't really make use of them.
How are vitamins best absorbed? Through FOOD that you EAT. Synthetic vitamins are only used by your body at MOST 22 minutes and then are discarded.
Better vitamins are the kind that are made with food from plants, in which your body will use and digest for more than 20 HOURS each day. They cost more, but you are way more healthy.

Keep up the great bodywork!
I was a buyer in the Nutrition dept of a major health food chain for almost a decade, so I have seen more than I care to count. And I've taken more Nutritional Biochem courses in college than I care to admit...
Centrums are just fine if someone eats a well balanced diet (5-9 servings of fruits and veggies, lots of whole grains, low in fat/meat)- its just an insurance policy to prevent weak spots in an otherwise GOOD diet.
For everyone else, some good brands to consider are:
Rainbow light (my personal favorite for men, women and children) or NOW foods (orange and white label, rather generic looking) has also started making some fine supplements and they are easy to find in a lot of places.
But when in doubt, I encourage people to cut down on meat, increase on the produce (eat a rainbow)and whole grains. We were intended to get out nutrients from food, not pills.
Multivitamins don't discriminate between men and women. A goog natural multiple vitamin is Juice+ Its made from food sources. They don't mess around with the balance of ingredients. Its all natural. This one won't upset your stomach when its empty. No fillers, sugar, starches, or synthetic ingredients. Do a search in google for Juice+
you may want to check out a line of a variety of vitamins and other personal care products called ADVOCARE. they have some quality items and products. way better than anything GNC can even think of putting out.
I take a once a day drink that contains Taurine, which is an essential amino acid. It helps with cardiovascular disease, including high blood pressure. There are also other herbs included in this single serving such as maca root (boosts libido, sexual function, and overall energy) and green tea among others. This is an all around good drink that contains vitamins as well.
If you e-mail me, I can get you information on how to get this product. It's very inexpensive as well.
Go to your local health food store. They should have good vitamin/mineral supplements, as well as specific supplements for guys. Guys need saw palmetto, pumpkinseed, etc it's all there so check it out! Ask questions at the health food store; they are happy to help you.
I go with standard generic plus iron multivitamins...there's basically two types of multiples...theres the one-a-day types...which can be found as generic safeway brand or name brand...they are high in the vitamin Bs'...and then theres the ones that used to be one-a-days but that company doesnt sell anymore for whatever reason...they can be found as walgreens brand multi vitamins...w/ or w/out iron...they are basically the same as the other ones only they are small and have 100% in everything as the larger variety only not as much the B-B complex etc...I keep the small ones at home and the big ones in my locker at work atm in case I forget to take one in the morning...but I usually just have the small ones as I take beta-carotene-A and E as well as calcium in synchronicity w/ the multiples...
one -a-day maximum
