Is there a way that i can make eastern and holistic medicine a career??
Question: i'm doin research paper on eastern and holistic medicine and i realize that i want to do this as a career but the thing is..i don't know how and don't know what kind of training that i need to do? help me please
Answers: If you wish to do both eastern and holistic medicine, then enroll to become a doctor of naturopathy (N.D.). There's just one catch, only 12 states officially recognize ND and give license for it. 2 states are illegal to practice. The other states tolerate it but doesn't ban it. Most ND's that practice in one of the states that tolerate usually get their license from one of the nearby 12 states.
Here's a good FAQ.

Try looking through Clayton College's website for more ideas. While Dr. K is right in that it would be difficult to practice under the title N.D., you would have better luck if you were an R.N. or a Physical Therapist as a base for your education, something with a four-year bachelor degree. I've attended seminars with N.D.s who began their practice as a P.T. and have just expanded on it. You also might want to consider becoming an acupuncturist and getting trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but you might need to be licensed as a Massage Therapist at minimum to touch people. Or you could just become one of the few and rare Medical Doctors that actually practice holistically.
Yes! That is a great idea. My sons pediatrician practices conventional medicine and alternative medicine. I love to having alternatives and that is why I specifically picked him. My son got a bit constipated and instead of telling me to give him some exlac type medicine he had me give him flax seed oil which solved the problem in a gentle way.
To find out about the training do a web search on schools of alternative medicine and there are several sites you can check in to.
Good luck and you go for it!
AYURVEDA
Many colleges have a holistic and/or alternative health programs. You can specialize in herbs, acupuncture, reiki etc. The only downfall to this is that Eastern medicine is not that big in the U.S, although it is becoming more popular it is harder to find a job in these areas. If you are really interested I would suggest looking into what kind of programs your local college has to offer. I know there is a school in Arizona that focuses only on holistic medicine, but I cant remember the name. Good luck with your new career choice!
of course you can. there are many ways to learn holistic medicine and make a very good living off of it. people are turning more and more to the holistic community for healing.
